25th Only 4 boys and 13 girls met the qualifying criteria for the most improved swimmer since June. The winners will be presented at the next Club sessions.
27th Central Lancs Prelim Age Groups, Aquatics Centre, Manchester. Thomas Wilson (16) wins 400m Freestyle, Emily Cott (13) wins 200m Backstroke, Joshua Finch (16) wins 100m Butterfly. Emily Cott also finishes 2nd in 50m Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley and 50m Freestyle.
28th Central Lancs Prelim Age Groups, Aquatics Centre, Manchester. Emily Cott (13) wins 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle, Joshua Finch (16) wins 200m Freestyle. Morgan Hartley (10) finishes 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle.

11th Central Lancs Prelim Age Groups, Aquatics Centre, Manchester. Emily Cott (13) finishes 2nd in 200m Freestyle and is 3rd in 50m Backstroke. Joshua Finch (16) is 2nd in 100m Freestyle. Sam Bainbridge (13) is 3rd in 100m Freestyle. Over the four galas 28 Lancashire Qualifying Times were achieved.
11th Rotherham Metro ASC Open Masters Meet, Ponds Forge, Sheffield. Philip Croxall (35-39) wins 200m Individual Medley, finishes 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke and is 3rd in 50m Freestyle. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 2nd in 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle and is 7th in 100m Freestyle.

10th Lancashire County Championships 2007. There were 6 swimmers taking part resulting in 4 new personal best times.
11th Lancashire County Championships 2007. There were 8 swimmers taking part resulting in 11 new personal best times and 4 swimmers in finals. William Harrison (open) finished 2nd in 100m Butterfly achieving an ASA National Qualifying Time and Joshua Finch (16) finished 3rd in 100m Butterfly also achieving an ASA National Qualifying Time.
17th Lancashire County Championships 2007. There were 7 swimmers taking part resulting in 12 new personal best times and 2 swimmers in finals. Joshua Finch (16) finished 1st in 50m Butterfly and 3rd 100m Butterfly achieving ASA National Qualifying Time. William Harrison (open) finished 1st in 50m Butterfly and 4th in 100m Freestyle achieving an ASA National Qualifying Time.
18th Lancashire County Championships 2007. There were 5 swimmers taking part resulting in 8 new personal best times. William Harrison (open) finished 1st in 50m Freestyle achieving an ASA National Qualifying Time.
22nd In the first Friendly League fixture of the season, Colne were hosts to Haslingden. The Colne swimmers started the season in fine form as they managed 32 new personal bests between them winning 29 races of the 40 races. This left Colne as convincing winners by 69 points to 49.
25th Colne travelled to Lancaster to compete in their first Micro League fixture of the season. In what proved to be a good start to the season the young swimmers (9-12yrs) attained 14 new personal bests between them. This enabled them to finish second on 122 points behind hosts Lancaster who amassed 145 points. Preston 'B' finished 3rd with 115 points with Clitheroe finishing 4th on 102 points.
26th Three swimmers from Colne ASC were selected for the Central Lancs Team to take part in the Inter-Association Gala at Blackpool on the 26th and 27th May. Emily Cott (13) has been selected for 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle. She has been named as Reserve for 200m Individual Medley, 400m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle. Morgan Hartley (10) has been selected for 50m Breaststroke, 200m Freeatyle, 50m Butterfly, 200m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle. He has also been named as Reserve for 200m Individual Medley. Jack Coyne (10) has been selected for 50m Freestyle and named as Reserve for 200m Freestyle.

April 2007

14th Central Lancs Championship at Aquatics Centre. A total of 7 medals were achieved on the day with two 1st places, three 2nd and two 3rd places, with no fewer than 49 personal best times. Morgan Hartley (10) achieved a 2nd place in the 50m Freestyle and a 3rd 50m Backstroke. Chris Bates (12) achieved a 2nd place in the 50m Backstroke and a 3rd 50m Freestyle. Emily Cott (13) achieved two 1st places in the 50m Backstroke and Freestyle events and a 2nd 50m Butterfly.
15th Darlington Dolphin Masters Gala. Swimming in the 35 to 39 years age group were Philip Croxall and Bob Whittaker. Philip finished 1st in 100m Individual Medley, 50m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke and was 2nd in 100m Freestyle. Bob finished 2nd in 200m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke, 3rd in 100m Freestyle and 4th in 50m Backstroke. Swimming in the 60 to 64 years age group was Tony Catterall who finished 1st in 100m Individual Medley, 200m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke and was 2nd in 100m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke.
19th Colne lose to Pioneer '79 by 67 points to 50 in Friendly League. Despite the defeat there was 17 new personal bests amongst the girls and 11 amongst the boys.
20th Scottish National Short Course Masters Championship. Karen Driver (35-39) wins the 800m Freestyle and is 3rd in 400m Individual Medley setting new personal bests in both events.
21st Scottish National Short Course Masters Championship. Karen Driver (35-39) finishes second in 200m and 400m Freestyle.
27th Colne travelled to the Ribblesdale Pool in Clitheroe for a Micro League fixture. Colne finished 4th on 87 points after having 14 points deducted for swimming a 9 year old in 10 years race. Pioneer '79 finished 1st with 177 points with Preston 'B' in 2nd on 113 points and Clitheroe 3rd on 96 points.
30th Colne travelled to Ramsbottom for a Friendly League fixture. The swimmers manged to set a further 10 personal bests in a 65 points to 55 defeat.

5th At ASA North West Region Youth Championships held at Manchester Aquatics Centre, William Harrison (17/18) wins 50m Butterfly. Joshua Finch (15/16) swimming for BOBCATS wins 50m Butterfly and is 4th in 100m Freestyle.
6th At ASA North West Region Youth Championships held at Manchester Aquatics Centre, William Harrison (17/18) wins 50m Freestyle. Joshua Finch (15/16) swimming for BOBCATS win 100m Butterfly and is 10th in 50m Freestyle.
10th Colne lose to Ramsbottom by 59 points to 61 in Friendly League.
12th At Yorkshire SA Masters Championships. John Penswick (65-69) wins 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 100m Backstroke. He is 3rd in 50m Backstroke.
12th At Carlisle Masters Swim Meet. Philip Croxall (35-39) finishes 2nd in 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke, and is 3rd in 100m Individual Medley. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 3rd in 200m Freestyle.
24th Colne lose to Pioneer '79 by 64 points to 55 in the Friendly League. A further 11 new personal bests were set between the Colne swimmers.

15th At British Masters Swimming Championships (Day One). Karen Driver (35-39) wins 1500m Freestyle. Bob Whittaker (35-39) is 2nd in 1500m Freestyle. Tony Catterall (60-65) wins 200m Individual Medley, is 2nd in 1500m Freestyle and 3rd in 200m Breaststroke. Philip Croxall (35-39) is 7th in 200m Individual Medley.
16th Day Two of British Masters sees Stephen Smith (35-39) win 50m Freestyle with Philip Croxall (35-39) finishing 14th. Tony Catterall (60-65) is 2nd in 200m Butterfly and 4th in 200m Backstroke. Karen Driver (35-39) is 2nd in 800m Freestyle with Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishing 5th. Philip also finished 7th in 50m Breaststroke.
17th Day Three of British Masters sees Stephen Smith (35-39) win 100m Freestyle with Philip Croxall (35-39) finishing 7th. Bob Whittaker (35-39) finishes 4th in 400m Freestyle and Karen Driver (35-39) finishes 5th. Philip also finishes 6th in 100m Breaststroke.
19th Colne awarded win against Ramsbottom in Friendly League due to the swimming of several in-eligible swimmers. The points are now 64 points to Colne and 48 to Ramsbottom.
23rd Colne finish 3rd in latest Micro League fixture at West View pool in Preston. Pioneer '79 won with 171 points, Preston 'B' were 2nd on 123 points, Colne had 99 points and Blackpool was 4th with 96 points. Several of the Colne swimmers recorded new personal bests.
28th Only 6 boys and 12 girls met the qualifying criteria for the most improved swimmer since January. The winners will be presented at the next Club sessions.
30th Gateshead & Whickham Open Masters 2007. Karen Driver (35-39) wins 200m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley, 400m Individual Medley, 400m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley, she also helps the Calisle Masters 160-199 years Mixed Medley and Freestyle Teams to reach 1st and 2nd respectively. Tony Catterall (60-65) wins 200m Backstroke, 200m Freestyle, 200m Butterfly, 400m Individual Medley, 200m Breaststroke, 400m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley. Philip Croxall (35-39) wins 50m Breaststroke, 2nd in 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke, 3rd in 200m Individual Medley and 4th in 100m Individual Medley. He also helped the Carlisle Masters 200-239 years Freestyle Relay Team to 1st place.

2nd Aeneas Robinson (13.40%) and Elsie Chadwick (9.87%) were presented with their Most Improved Swimmers trophies by Chairman Martin Jackson.
5th In the return friendly gala against Burnley held at the Pendle Leisure Centre. In fielding a 'B' team, Colne lost by 58 points to 74.
7th The final Micro League fixture held at Pendle Leisure Centre saw teams from Colne, Pioneer '79, Blackpool and Rosegrove competing. It proved to be a close contest between Colne, Rosegrove and Blackpool as they vied for runners up spot against Pioneer, who were far too strong as they ran out winners by 180 points. Blackpool finished runners up with 110 points with Colne in third on 97, and Rosegrove in 4th on 93 points. Throughout the course of the evening there were nine new personal bests set by the young Colne swimmers.
12th A thankyou to the 47 swimmers who swam in the sponsored swim. The swimmer who swam the most lengths in the 25 minutes was Chris Wood who managed 78 lengths which is 1,950 metres.
19th The Club has been nominated in the Community Club of the Year category for the forth comming Pendle Sports Awards. Andrew Croxall has been nominated in the Coach of the Year category, and Amanda Kelly has been nominated in the Young Volunteer category. The winners will be announced at the Awards evening on Saturday, 8th September 2007.
28th At the ASA Swim 21 Youth & ASA National Championships (50m) held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield. William Harrison (18) swimming in the 17/18 years age group finished 17th overall in the heats of the 50m Butterfly in a time of 25.94 seconds, which was a new personal best. He swam slightly slower (26.09) in the semi-final and missed out on the final. This made him 6th fastest in his age group. He was 70th overall in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 54.07 seconds, this was also a new personal best time. This equated to 29th in his age group.
31st At the ASA Swim 21 Youth & ASA National Championships. William finished 82nd overall in the 100m Butterfly in a time of 1 minute 0.25 seconds, this left him 41st in his age group. He also finished 26th overall in the 50m Freestyle in a time of 24.34 seconds, which was a personal best. As a result he reached the final for his age group where he finished 7th in a time of 24.26 seconds. Also swimming on the Tuesday was Joshua Finch (16) in the 15/16 years age group, he was representing the BOBCATS. He finished 72nd overall in the 100m Butterfly in a time of 59.73, which was a personal best. This left him in 13th place in his age group. It was also the first time he had beaten Will in competition.

23rd Chris Wood has been nominated in the Sporting Moment of the Year category for the forth comming Pendle Sports Awards. The winners will be announced at the Awards evening on Saturday, 8th September 2007.
28th At European Masters Championships. In hot sunny conditions with the temperature up at 30 degrees, Philip Croxall (35-39) was competing in the 200m Individual Medley. He finished with a time of 2 minutes 40.56 seconds which was only slightly slower than his seasons best. This left him in 28th place out of 48.
30th At European Masters Championships. Philip Croxall (35-39) competing in the 100m Breaststroke, the conditions were not as favourable as the temperature had dropped to a chilly 14 degrees with rain threatening. Despite this he managed his best time for over three years with a 1 minute 20.01 seconds, which left him in 26th place out of 50 after being initially seeded 33rd. Shortly after, the competition was suspended due to torrential rain caused by a Thunderstorm.
31st At European Masters Championships. Stephen Smith (35-39) in improving weather conditions, took part in the 100m Freestyle. After the first 50m he was swimming well having gone out in 27 seconds, but half way back on the second length he took in mouthful of water which brought his race to an abrupt end as he struggled for a breath. He was disappointed as he was on course for a top ten finish.

September 2007

1st At European Masters Championships. The sun had come back out again with temperatures climbing back up into the 20s. First up was Philip Croxall (35-39) in the 200m Breaststroke, who swam a controlled race to finish 14th out of 30 after initially being seeded 20th. His time was a lifetime personal best of 2 minutes 56.33 seconds. Next up was Stephen Smith (35-39) in the 50m Freestyle with the heats coming thick and fast, had something to prove to himself after the disaster of the previous day. He powered down the length in what he thought was a poor swim, but when he saw the result a few minutes later his week had improved as he had finished 10th out of 119 after being initially seeded 24th. His time of 25.89 seconds was the best he had done for over 15 years.
8th Chris Wood finishes 3rd in the British Tri-Athlon Long Course Championships in the 20 to 24 years age group.
8th At Pendle Sports Awards held at Colne Municipal Hall. Amanda Kelly wins the Young Volunteer of the Year Award. The Club was runner-up in the Community Club of the Year Award. Club Coach Andrew Croxall was runner-up in the Coach of the Year Award. Chris Wood was recognised for his Sporting Moment in qualifying for the 'Iron-Man' World Tri-Athlon Championships in Hawaii.
22nd At ASANER Open Masters Meet held the Hydro Pool, Harrogate. John Penswick (65-69) wins 50m and 100m Breaststroke and 50m and 100m Backstroke. Stephen Smith (35-39) wins 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle. Philip Croxall (35-39) wins 50m Backstroke and 50m and 100m Breaststroke and is third in 50m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley, 100m Backstoke and 100m Butterfly. Bob Whittaker (35-39) wins 200m Backstroke and is runner-up in 100m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle.
23rd 25th Annual Teaspoon Gala was held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield. Joshua Finch (15yrs/over) was the only winner of a teaspoon when he came first in 50m Butterfly. There were 25 new personal bests set amongst the 10 swimmers who competed.

7th Warburtons Age Group Gala No. 1 held at the Castle Leisure Centre, Bury. Joseph Gilliam (15yrs) won 100m Breaststroke and was 2nd in 50m Freestyle. Jack Workman (15yrs) was 2nd in 50m Butterfly and 3rd in 100m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle. Lewis Fox (16yrs/over) was 3rd in 100m Freestyle.
11th Swim Clinic held by Aquateer Triple mMm, who is also known as Mel Marshall. Mel as a former World Number One swimmer held a technique session for the junior swimmers from 7pm whilst 8pm concentrating on the streamline position. From 8pm whilst 9pm she held a Skills Workshop for the senior swimmers.
14th Warburtons Age group Gala No. 2 held at the Castle Leisure Centre, Bury. Lewis Fox (16yrs/over) was 2nd in 100m Butterfly and 3rd in 50m Backstroke. Joseph Gillam (15) was 2nd in 50m Breaststroke and 3rd in 100m Freestyle. Overall there 16 new personal bests set by the 11 swimmers competing.
17th Annual General Meeting. The Club Officials and committe members elected for the next 12 months and the prices for membership set for the year 2008.
21st Warburtons Age group Gala No. 3 held at the Castle Leisure Centre, Bury. Emily Cott (14) wins 100m Backstroke. Lewis Fox (16yrs/over) is 2nd in 200m Individual Medley. Jack Workman (15) is 2nd in 200m Individual Medley. A further 9 personal bests were set by the 11 swimmers competing.
26th ASA National Masters Championships. Philip Croxall (35-39) finishes 10th in 100m Breaststroke in 1:14.90 knocking 1.2 seconds of his personal best.
27th ASA National Masters Championships. Stephen Smith (35-39) finishes 2nd in 100m Freestyle in 55.01 seconds. Philip Croxall (25-39) finishes 7th in 400m Freestyle in 4:56.00, and 6th in 200m Breaststroke in 2:45.43, a personal best by 4.5 seconds.
28th ASA National Masters Championships. Stephen Smith (35.39) finishes 4th in 50m Freestyle in 25.44, with Philip Croxall in 14th in 27.24, a new personal best. He is also 6th in 50m Breaststroke in 34.11, his best time for 19 years.

15th The 1st Championship Gala was held and 5 new records were established. Ashleigh Dibb in the Bramhill Cup - 25m Backstroke 10 and under. Ashleigh Dibb in the Dot Hartley Trophy - 100m Individual Medley 10 and under. Laura Foulkes in the Presidents Cup - 50m Frontcrawl. 16 and over. Joshua Finch in the Corteen Cup - 100m Individual Medley 16 and over. Jack Coyne in the Harry Dewhurst Trophy - 100m Individual Medley 10 and under.
17th The Betty Petty Style trophy was held and was competed for by 4 boys and 8 girls. The judges results are in and the winners are now known, but the results shall be revealed on Friday, 7th December at the Annual Presentation.
22nd The 2nd Championship Gala was held and a further 3 new records were established. Ashleigh Dibb in the Woodthorpe White Trophy - 25m Breaststroke 10 and under. Laura Foulkes in the Senior Championship Trophy - 200m Freestyle Open age. Christian Butschok-Brain in the Wilkinson Trophy - 25m Frontcrawl 8 and under. The 'Spot-On' competition was held and one person managed to match their submitted time, but the results shall be revealed on Friday, 7th December at the Annual Presentation.

6th The annual Christmas Sprint Gala was held where 37 boys and 28 girls took part. There were 14 new girls records and 8 new boys records established.
7th The Club Captains for 2008 are Joshua Finch and Laura Foulkes with the Junior Captains being Morgan Hartley and Ellie Butschok-Brain.
7th The Betty Petty Style Trophy winners were Alexander Berry for the boys and Bethany Moore for the girls.
7th At the Annual Presentation and Disco, the trophies from the two Championship Galas were presented by our eldest member - Stanley Hendley. Also presented were the Two Alberts to Mick Charldwood, the John Dobbin Trophy to Shannon Ralph and the Bramhill Memorial Trophy to Cristian Santabarbara.
